“Much of what we take for granted in our everyday living should make all of us more appreciative…for having entrepreneurs.” Russel Wiener, a 1992 inductee into the Society of Entrepreneurs, has a very basic philosophy about entrepreneurship – it’s the basic foundation of all that we know in today’s business world. Russel retired as President of General Mills Donruss Division and is the former President and is currently a senior advisor of Pacco, Inc., a family owned company that deals in agricultural products such as cotton, soybeans, wheat and corn.

Russel Wiener’s beliefs about not taking anything for granted are exemplified in his continued involvement and leadership in a long, varied list of civic and charitable organizations. His commitments include the Assisi Foundation, the Joy of Music Foundation, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, the Memphis Orchestral Society, the English Speaking Union, Memphis Opera Theatre, Rhodes College, Christian Brothers University, and the University of Tennessee Memphis Science Health Center.

Thoughts on Entrepreneurship:

"'Entrepreneurship is the essence of economic statesmanship. Enjoyment and the quality of our lives to the fullest extent is manifest in the multitude of services and products generated by the entrepreneurs ...much of what we take for granted in our everyday living should make all of us more appreciative ...for having these entrepreneurs..."
